West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Turkish International winger Gokhan Tore from Beskitas on a season long loan deal. After an initial down payment for Tore, the deal will include an option to buy the player at the end of the season should he impress the club and prove himself in the PL.

Slaven Bilic Oct 2015 (Socrates) “Gökhan is a legend, he is a top guy and a great player, of course I would love to have him at West Ham. I tried to sign him at the start of the season, but it was not the right time.” So Bilic has at long last been reunited with his golden boy, but who is he and what can we expect from the Hammers’ latest signing…

Tore was first discovered by former Chelsea scout and sporting director Frank Arnesen after making an impression in the Bayer Leverkusen youth set up. He transferred to Chelsea where he had a slow start and limited first team opportunities. He moved again, this time with his mentor Arnesen to HSV Hamburg, where he started extremely well but faded after a series of injury setbacks – he was later sold to Rubin Kazan in Russia. After failing to settle in Russia, Tore found himself at Besiktas looking for a new lease of life and to finally get his career up and running. Under the guidance of Slaven Bilic, Tore established himself as a dangerous, deadly and versatile attacking winger . Bilic knew how to get the best out of him and in his final season in charge, Tore scored a career high eight goals and 11 assists.

The 5ft 9in winger is a skillful, pacey and energetic goal threat; however, his greatest attribute lies in his distribution. He knows how to pick out a pass and recorded a pass completion percentage of 83.2% last season along with 6 assists. He’s a great addition to an already attack minded West Ham and fits perfectly with the ‘West Ham Way’ mantra.
