We welcome back the Premier League this weekend, with a short journey to Watford. Slaven Bilic and the players have just returned from a weeks training out in Dubai. Which, so we have been told has been a worthwhile experience and hopefully the team will be ready to go come late Saturday afternoon.
It seems a long time since we were last in action a 2-2 draw against W.B.A. But with only one league defeat since January 6th. there are reasons to be cheerful and confident going into this game against Watford. Who we will be hoping to gain revenge on after they came from behind to beat us 2- 4 at the London stadium earlier in the season.
Watford like us, have been very inconsistent this year. Unable to go on a solid run of any kind but unlike us they might just be happy that at no time this season have they been anywhere near the relegation zone. They have managed to win 2 of there last 6 games with 2 draws and 2 defeats. They have managed to get to 30 points so far and stand in 13th position.
We have 2 points more and are in 10th place but also in a bit more form with 3 wins and 1 draw from the last 6. It comes as no surprise that the good form we have shown this year has been when Andy Carroll has been in the team which pains me to say that he still may not be fit for the weekend.
Team news for Watford is that they also have a few fitness concerns of their own with Sebastian Prodl, Craig Cathcart and ex Hammer Valon Behrami all facing late fitness checks. Christian Kabasele and Nordet Amrabat will probably miss the game.
Obviously for West Ham United Andy Carrol is a doubt and long term injuries Ogbonna, Sakho, and Tore miss out. Cresswell seems to have recovered from a small knock and we welcome back Andre Ayew for the first time since the African Cup of Nations. By all accounts Masuaku is also back with the squad.
Predicted Line Ups :
Watford : Gomes, Janmaat, Kaboul, Brittos, Holebas, Capoue, Cleverley, Doucoure, Niang, Deeney, Zarate.
West Ham United : Randolph, Byram, Reid, Fonte, Cresswell, Noble, Obiang, Antonio, Snodgrass, Lanzini, Ayew
We have a lot of options at the moment in most positions apart from RB at the moment so seeing Feghouli or Kouyate in the team wouldn´t surprise me at all. But I feel that they would probably make more of a difference coming off the bench. I´m hoping for a big performance from the team as there is still a lot to play for this season with 5 teams being separated by only 2 points. I feel we should be above all those teams. I think we will win 0 – 2 tomorrow with our goals both coming from Ayew
