Hull City….Lets just say disappointing and leave it at that. It was a very poor result and one that we have to recover from and soon. I think that the way results seem to be going we are now in a desperate need to get it together and make sure we get as far away from the bottom of the table as possible.
Fortunately for us Arsenal have won just 1 of their last 6 games and lost 4 of them which is a terrible run of form for them and has seen them drop to 6th place in the league and they have a good chance of not qualifying for the champions league this year. They are 7 points adrift from the top 4. Although some people might say that their 2-2 draw with Manchester City showed some fight and desire. I think that they are just a talented bunch of players who have lost a lot of faith in their manager.
Which brings me nicely onto West Ham United. By all accounts our players still have faith in our manager but looking at our recent results I can´t say that I share their enthusiasm. It´s not just the recent Hull City result it seems like our players feel like they have done enough this season and seem to be thinking about their holidays already. Can anyone tell me how many points we have won since our Training week in Dubai? We are now in 15th position just 2 points above a form team Crystal Palace and 6 points ahead of Hull City who now host goal shy Middlesbrough.
I have heard reports that Arsenal could be without both their first team goal keepers Cech and Ospina which leaves them with Emiliano Martinez in goal. Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ramsey will both under go fitness tests and Mertesacker could be back while Koscielny is out. I´m sure regardless who is missing it will be a strong Arsenal team tonight.
Better news for the Hammers is that Antonio has recovered to return to the team as has Sakho, I´m not sure where i stand with Diafra at the moment as I felt he messed the club around at the beginning of the season. But his return is a welcome one as we have been crying out for an alternative to Carroll up front. Reid, Ogbonna, Obiang and Tore will be joined by Cresswell as he has not recovered from the knock picked up at the weekend.
Predicted Line ups :
Arsenal : Martinez, Bellerin, Mustafi, Gabriel, Monreal, Xhaka, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Ozil, Sanchez, Welbeck.
West Ham United : Randolph, Byram, Masuaku, Fonte, Collins, Kouyate, Noble, Lanzini, Ayew, Antonio, Carroll.
Subs: Adrian, Sakho, Fernandes, Snodgrass, Feghouli, Nordtveit, Calleri
I want to see Adrian back in goal as I feel he will be a better shot stopper and we will need that in tonight’s game but I don’t think he will make the change. The rest of the team picks itself with the return of Antonio and Masuaku coming in for Cresswell at LB, Snodgrass, Feghouli and Sakho should give us plenty of options in attack from the bench. We seem a bit short of options at the back at the moment unfortunatly. I would love to say we could win this game and while history may suggest we do well at the Emirites I really can´t see us getting anything out of this game. I really hope I´m wrong and I think we will see a 2-0 defeat. But Come On West Ham prove me wrong.
