Welcome back Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m sure you have all missed me but I am so excited for the game later today that I just had to write a preview of sorts for the game.
Who could forget the last time the two sides met, 3 goals down with just 20 odd minutes on the clock, and things were looking as bad as it could. But then something that we have not seen much in previous West Ham sides recently, we grew into the game and never gave up. Finishing with goal of the season contender from Manuel Lanzini. Lets hope he doesn’t need to do similar this time round.
Spurs have been on a dreadful run of form losing 4 of their last 6 Premier League games. I’m also pleased to say look absolutely awful at the back, But, while they still have players such as Kane, Son and Bale in the team they are always going to be a threat going forward. But the way David Moyes and his team have set the team up this year I am more than optimistic.
Just the one defeat for West Ham over the last 6 league games and that was against Champions Liverpool where we were not quite at the races but coming off of a great 3-0 win over strugglers Sheffield United we should be well up for a Home derby game against those (insert swear word)
Spurs will be without Reguilon and Lo Celso for this game but there is also talk that Kane might be missing I don´t see it myself, He’ll be fit and ready to go, I’m sure.
Unfortunately, we will be missing our on-form defender Ogbonna for this game but hopefully Diop or Balbuena and keep the standards set by the rest of the team this year. The big question is if Antonio will be able to play or not. Lots have been said about our lack of a striker and having Antonio back and fit will be a big boost to our chances of beating Spurs.
My Predicted Line ups :
West Ham United : Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Cresswell, Johnson, Soucek, Rice, Lingard, Bowen and Antonio.
Tottenham : Lloris, Davis, Dier, Alderwiereld, Doherty, Hojberg, Winks, Son, Ndombele, Bale and Kane.
We could of course go back to a back 4 and drop Johnson and play maybe Fornals or Benrahma, but I think Moyes is still a bit too cautious when playing against the better teams and will wait to see how the game pans out before bringing on players to change the game in some way, be it chasing a goal or closing the game out. I’m going to be my usual bold self and predict we will go on a win an exciting game 2-1 with our goals coming from Antonio and Benrahma off the bench.
Can’t wait for this one, Come on you Mighty Hammers.
