Jonathan Lee > Not a vintage performance but an important win and three points. In truth, the Leeds effort second half may have been enough to earn them a comeback draw (or more) on another evening; we will need to significantly improve our game at Old Trafford next weekend if we are going to come away with anything.

Fabianski – 7.5 made a couple of very important saves second half but largely a spectator first half (bar the first ten minutes);

Coufal – 8 the man was just a rock in that right back position although we saw little to nothing of him going forward;

Dawson – 9 another colossus of a performance, scoring our second, another header onto the post and a clearance off the line, we have now come to expect this from him each match, in the final minutes he was still telling Diop to keep his head and go to the end;

Diop – 8 covering for Ogbonna ever so well just now, one important block and another timely header away second half plus one amazing burst forward from his own half with the ball in the first period which he has in his locker – got away with letting Bamford slip past him early in the second half;

Cresswell – 8 another who is consistently good of late, provided a corner assist for our second and an important header away second half as Leeds threatened;

Rice – 7 a quieter game than of late and struggled with Leeds runners in the middle of the park, but also made a couple of decent recovery tackles (plus an entertaining post-match interview on Sky!);

Soucek – 7 quietly effective although like Declan struggled with Leeds midfield runners, failed to track Bamford in the box second half who should have scored from the cut back;

Lingard – 6.5 did well to win the penalty although lucky to get away with a poor resulting spot kick, floated in and out of the game before being subbed near the end, his loan deal means we won’t see him again now until the Arsenal match;

Fornals – 7 in a decent run of form at the moment, as ever covered every blade of grass, desperately unlucky with a wonderful 30 yard controlled volley against the bar second half;

Benrahma – 7 looked lively and threatening whenever he got on the ball and clearly desperate to get off the scoring mark with a couple of long distance efforts but neither really troubled the keeper;

Antonio – 6.5 put in a shift, particularly second half, but never really asserted himself and looked out of gas by the end.

Subs:

Bowen – 6 (73 mins for Benrahma) had our only shot on target second half (albeit weak) and helped Coufal in a rearguard effort for the last 20 minutes;

Johnson – (87 mins for Lingard) no mark as not on for long enough.
