Jonathan Lee > Much like our Cup exit to the same team, a disappointing performance in which we failed to muster a single effort on target, with Henderson largely a spectator. Hopefully the return of Lingard will help us find a cutting edge when Arsenal visit the London Stadium.

Fabianski – 8.5 a couple of top class saves kept the score level, and bravely saved at the feet of Fernandes, but no chance with the goal;

Coufal – 6 had a torrid time managing Rashford and Shaw down his side, only managed to get forward a couple of times;

Dawson – 6.5 desperately unlucky to concede the own goal (incredibly the team’s first direct error this season that has led to a goal) otherwise managed to be pretty steady again at the back;

Diop – 6 almost caught out by another deep cross which Rashford wasted, lucky to get away with a poor touch second half, but did make some decent interceptions;

Cresswell – 6 had a hard time tracking James and never really managed to make a difference in the final third;

Rice – 6.5 solid enough without managing to dictate play, put in some tough tackles but wasted one promising opening late on with a ball overhit for a goal kick;

Soucek – 6 played a more forward role second half but when presented with a shooting chance took too long and his shot was blocked;

Johnson – 5.5 regularly gave possession away first half but did help Cresswell in covering our left wing, switched to right wing back second half but missed getting his head to the ball from the corner for the goal, subbed on 62 mins;

Bowen – 6 unusually not subbed for once and worked hard but with little to no impact on the home defence;

Noble – 5.5 marshalled the defensive line first half but never started any decisive counters and had no impact on the game before being subbed;

Antonio – 6.5 played well in bursts and put in a shift but never truly unsettled the home defence.

Subs:

Benrahma – 6 (for Noble 62 mins) tried to create but kept running down cul-de-sacs, created Soucek’s chance opening the second half;

Lanzini – 6 (for Johnson 62 mins) as always, neat on the ball, but unable to unlock the home defence.
