Jonathan Lee > Another disappointing result and now only 4 points from the last 15, but of all clubs those nice guys at Sheff Utd went and won at Everton meaning one win from our last two games will earn us seventh place and qualification for the inaugural Europa Conference. If we better Spurs’ points haul in the last two games we would likely finish sixth and a spot in the Europa League – now we need the players to deliver …

Fabianski – 6.5 made a couple of decent blocks second half but little chance with the goal;

Coufal – 6.5 solid enough at the back although crucially lost concentration to let Welbeck slip through by stepping up for offside rather rather than tracking his run (Dawson was already playing him on), not as effective going forward although his late cross got headed out to Benrahma for our goal;

Cresswell – 6 got caught out a couple of times second half including one short headed back pass, no real threat going forward;

Ogbonna – 7 solid all night and looking back to somewhere near his best;

Dawson – 7 important early interception from Welbeck and generally played well, sent a good headed chance wide second half;

Soucek – 6 looked tired in latter stages, got forward slightly more given return of Rice but passing at times was too ponderous and lacked urgency;

Rice – 6 had a decent enough first half on his return from injury including one very good recovery tackle, but looked out of gas midway through the second half, lost the run of Tau in the build up to their goal plus Soucek at one point needed to tell him where to run as he seemed disorientated;

Lingard – 5.5 on numerous occasions drove at the Brighton defence only to produce a poor end product, continually collected the ball quite deep and laid it off 5 yards which was easy to defend;

Fornals – 6.5 nice bit of skill put him in on goal first half but he dallied and never got his shot off, faded as the second half progressed, one decent opening was wasted as he overcomplicated his shot when well placed in the box; did however make the challenge that forced the clearance to Benrahma for our goal;

Bowen – 6 flitted in and out of the game, set up Fornals for an early chance and one very good opening early in the second half was wasted when finding himself well placed in the area, subbed in the 64th minute;

Antonio – 5.5 little went right for him today notably when we had a 3 on 2 second half and he laid off a lazy stray pass, persists in drifting out wide for some reason when he should be staying between the posts;

Subs:

Benrahma – 7 (64 mins for Bowen) made a good shout for starting the next game, delivered a lovely cross which Dawson wasted and grabbed his first WH goal with a delightful strike late on – let’s hope it turns out to be the first of many in his WH career.
