It has been revealed that Angelo Ogbonna has sustained a cruciate knee injury whilst playing against Liverpool on Sunday.

Whilst we don’t yet know the full extent of the damage, there is a possibility that Oggy has played his last game this season.

The club have confirmed that an assessment was carried our following the huge victory at the weekend after the Italian complained of discomfort.

Unfortunately that assessment has discovered damage to his anterior cruciate ligament. It’s still early days to provide full prognosis but at this stage it’s anticipated that a lay off between 4-9 months is likely.

A huge blow to a player in outstanding form. The West Ham Way will keep you up to date with the news as it develops.
