Irons boss David Moyes has been speaking to the media ahead of our away fixture against Wolves this weekend.

On the current team fitness and also Angelo Ogbonna’s cruciate knee injury Moyes said: “At the moment everybody looks ok. We’re still assessing people after their returns because most of them only came back yesterday.

“I’m glad to get Mick back, he’s really Important to us so the quicker we get him back the better. We felt it was worth getting him back a bit quicker and I’m happy he got his goals for Jamaica.

“We think surgery for Angelo will take place over the next couple of days and it’s really sad because he’s a great team player and his performances have been great.”

On this weeks opponents Wolves and current team spirit the boss stated:  “They are a really difficult team to play against, and they’ve found their feet under a new manager. It’ll be a tough game at Molineux.

“Team spirit has always been really important and there are different ways of building it.

“I think it comes from winning, having good players who are committed and I think we’ve got that. It comes from the players and they are driving each other on and producing it at the moment.

“We have to keep it up, keep focused and keep pushing on. I’m really pleased with how we’re performing and we have to keep it going.”

This week Glenn Hoddle described Declan Rice as ‘the best player in the Premier League, here was Moyes’ take on the flattering statement: “Glenn Hoddle is a really good judge of footballers, so if you’re getting that from Glenn Hoddle he won’t be far off the mark.

“At the moment he’s as good as anybody in my mind. We’re not talking too much about it if we can help it but he is such a good talent and the accolades are coming from all the pundits and quite rightly so.”

Moyes was also questioned on the recent investment from Czech Billionaire Daniel Kretinsky, here is what he had to say about meeting the man: “I got a chance to meet Daniel after the game against Liverpool. I think he’s a really good addition to the board and I’m looking forward to working with him. It looks and feels like a good move for West Ham.”

Our Irons head to Molineux this Saturday at 3pm looking to build on a fantastic start to the campaign.
