This week our man-in-the-know ExWHUemployee has provided an update of the goings on behind the scenes at the club, including transfers and injuries.
It was reported last week that West Ham had made a £21m offer for Hazard which was then rejected by Real Madrid, which was initially reported by The Sun.
It appears that this was purely paper talk and there is no substance in this story. Also with Hazards age and high wages, he does not fit the remit set out by Moyes and the club in terms of player recruitment.
The club are still weighing up options however at present the 3 key players being looked at are Nat Philips of Liverpool, Nathan Ake of Manchester City and James Tarkowski of Burnley.
Burnley are intent on keeping Tarkowski, although the fact he is in his final season could sway them to sell rather than him leave for free in the summer.
Attacker / Striker
As reported for some time now by Ex, Jesse Lingard is a top target for the club and we are expected to move early in the window. Nonetheless, we will face competition for his services, with Newcastle also keen.
The club are also interested in Championship top scorer and Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who we have watched closely and have admired for many years.
Another Ex has confirmed we have watched is Ben Brereton Díaz of Blackburn, who is currently the 2nd top scorer in the 2nd tier.
Mohamed Bayo of French side Clermont Foot is another forward the club are interested in. The club has been assessing the whole of the French league.
It is believed that Johnson has said he is ahead of schedule in terms of returning to action, with the initial diagnosis of the hamstring injury being 2-4 weeks.
