As we are now in the hustle & bustle of the January transfer window in the middle of another potentially very promising season for our Hammers, there is of course a lot of attention on potential signings and players returning from injury.

As always our man-in-the-know, ExWHUemployee, has provided an update on the goings on behind the scenes..

Injuries

As exclusively revealed previously by Ex, Kurt Zouma is very much ahead of schedule upon his return to action. As of now, he has recovered from his injury and only match fitness is holding him back from playing. He could well feature against Manchester United or possibly sooner.

Aaron Cresswell is also very close to returning and could well feature around the same time as Zouma – possibly even sooner.

The news of these players returning is having an impact on our decisions in the transfer market.

Defenders

As previously reported by Ex, Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth is someone we highly admire and is a player we want. With Bournemouth chasing promotion however this means there is no desire to sell their captain. It could be that we wait until the summer to see how their season ends up before we decide on making a move.

The same goes for James Tarkowski. Moyes is a huge admirer, however he is out of contract this summer and with Burnley battling relegation this season, there is no intention their end to sell.

If we are to make a signing for the likes of Kelly or Tarkowski, it is likely to be at the very end of the window.

French Leagues

Ex has stated already that the French leagues are something we are keeping a close eye on. Abdou Diallo of PSG and Benoît Badiashile of Monaco, both defenders, are players we hold a firm interest in.

Attacker wise we are interested in Mohamed Bayo of Clermont Foot, as previously reported, and Hugo Ekitike of Reins.

At this stage for these players a loan is more likely, with Moyes unlikely to risk taking a big money gamble.

Jonathan David is also someone we are interested however at this stage he is likely to remain in France until the summer.

Players on trial

We currently have some potentially very promising younger players on trial at the club.

Josh Tobin who is Chelsea’s U-18 captain, Max Jolliffe of Arsenal and Leon Boyd of Linfield are currently being evaluated.

Stadium

The club are currently in talks to take over full ownership of the stadium and are employing people to help get the deal done.

There are also plans in place to redevelop the West Stand, with safe standing also looking to be introduced.
