As we enter the final week of a so far non-eventful January transfer window, our very reliable ITK ExWHUemployee has provided an update on the current situation surrounding potential arrivals and also current player contracts.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

A report in The Sun stated that West Ham were set to make a move for the Everton striker, with £60m being quoted by the Toffees.

This is completely untrue and although we would of course be interested, Everton are not likely to want to sell their prized striker.

Armando Broja

The Chelsea striker who is on loan at Southampton is someone we are very interested in and are to enquire about.

However there are many obstacles. Firstly, Southampton are also very keen to make the current deal permanent and it’ll be hard to get him out of his current loan deal.

Secondly, its not known yet if Chelsea would even want to sell.

If Chelsea were to sell the player, then a buyback clause would most likely be part of the deal. It’s also worth noting that Arsenal are also keen. If anything is to happen it’ll most likely be in the summer rather than now.

Jesse Lingard

This saga is still rumbling on and Moyes remains very keen to bring him back to East London.

At this stage it’s looking unlikely as he will be a free agent in the summer, but this will no doubt go to the wire with Newcastle still very interested.

If this deal is deemed a definite no-go then the club will look at alternatives.

Ben Brereton Díaz

We remain very keen on the Blackburn striker but with the club currently sitting 2nd in the Championship it’s not going to be easy to sign their star striker. The noises are that a minimum of £28m would be required for his services.

Duje Ćaleta-Car

David Moyes likes the Marseille defender however we would prefer a loan, for which the French side are not interested in.

It looks at this stage West Ham will have to take a gamble to acquire his services this month.

Fabio Carvalho

The Fulham midfielder is seen as an alternative to Lingard and we are interested as previously reported by Ex.

At this stage looking more likely a summer move but this could change.

Emmanuel Longelo

Nottingham Forest are keen on the West Ham Academy product and could look to seal a loan move, or even a permanent one.

Player Contracts

Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek are players the club are now looking to tie down to new long term deals following interest elsewhere. This is also the case for Angelo Ogbonna and Ben Johnson.
