Jarrod Bowen has revealed that a famous West Ham fan, whos close to him now, didn’t know who he was when the Hammers signed him.

Bowen joined the club back in January 2020, after signing from Hull City for of a fee around £18m and has gone on to become a key member of David Moyes’ side having finished the clubs top scorer last season.

The Hereford born forward, who has seen a meteoric rise since starting his career in non-league football with Hereford just 8 years ago, is now regarded as one of the nations top forwards having earned himself a spot in Gareth Southgates England squad in recent months.

The Hammers forward is known to close these days with famous West Ham fan and actor Danny Dyer, as he is in relationship with the Eastenders stars daughter, Dani. However, Bowen has revealed that Danny had no idea who he was when he arrived in East London almost 3 years ago.

“That’s right he didn’t,” admitted Bowen to Sky Sports. “No he’s a ledge though. I play for his club so that always goes down well!”

Bowen was also asked to reflect on his first goal for the club, and it is something he remembers well and admitted its a moment he’ll never forget.

“My first two appearances were Liverpool and Man City away,” reflected Bowen. “But my first start was at home against Southampton and I scored. It was really special.”

Bowen will be looking to get our Hammers back on track on Monday night when we face Bournemouth at London Stadium, having narrowly lost to Liverpool in the week, despite being the dominating side for large periods of the match.

Bowen is expected to be in the squad for the match, however there are still question marks over whether Max Cornet will be involved as he continues to recover from injury. ExWHUEmployee will provide an update later today on the injury situation.
