West Ham have formally submitted a bid for Lorient striker Terem Moffi, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the offer made.

It was exclusively revealed by our man-in-the-know at the beginning of the transfer window that Moffi is highly regarded by the club, and that a move to acquire his services was looking likely.

Ex has now confirmed that our Hammers have followed up our initial enquiries and have now made a formal move for the Nigerian international, believed to be in the region of around £25m.

Competition is expected for his signature, with Southampton already having a bid rejected by the French side, however at this stage there are doubts as to whether West Hams bid will be successful, with Ex advising that the French side could look to hold on to him until the summer.

“It is thought that Lorient could reject this bid,” stated Ex on Patreon. “They could then push for more money knowing they are likely to get it in the summer.”

Ex has also revealed that a top source has said that there are a ‘number of bids in for strikers’ at this point, which of course casts further doubts on the long term future of Michail Antonio.

“The source confirmed that there are bids in for other players,” added our ITK and Podcast host. “Some of these are also said to be players in foreign leagues in France, Spain and Italy.”

Ex will be providing an update on all of the transfer activity plus news surrounding the future of David Moyes on The West Ham Way Podcast this evening.
