Gianluca Scamacca could be set for a spell on the sidelines with an injury, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The Italian international, who West Ham signed this summer for a fee of around £35m, picked up the injury to his knee in the draw against Leeds on 4th January.

It was hoped that the Italian would be back to lead the line against Everton this weekend, however our man-in-the know has revealed there are concerns that he could be out for a number of weeks.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, the Hammers insider and podcast host delivered the worrying news to add to what is already a very testing season for all connected with the club.

“Pursuit over a new forward has reached an even more critical stage with news that there are further fitness concerns over Gianluca Scamacca,” stated Ex.

“The Italian forward has been picking up knocks and reported an injury to his knee after the Leeds game.

”Whilst the diagnosis is not confirmed yet it could mean that he may have to miss a period of games with fears of it being up to a month if confirmed to be serious.”

If found to be serious it will be a massive blow to the club as we now look set to do battle to remain in the Premier League after a disastrous first half of the campaign.

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the diagnosis and all other club matters on Patreon first & foremost.
