West Ham playmaker Lucas Paqueta has stated that he and his teammates are brimming with confidence ahead of our London derby clash against Chelsea.

Our Hammers appear to have turned a big corner in what had been a difficult first half of the season that has seen David Moyes’ side dragged into a relegation battle.

However, since the turn of the new year, performances and results have significantly improved, with just one defeat recorded in the opening six matches in all competitions of 2023.

A key figure in that has been Lucas Paqueta, who seems to be settling well now into the side, especially since Moyes opted to play the Brazilian in his preferred deeper role alongside captain Declan Rice.

Paqueta was on the score sheet in our well earned draw at Newcastle last time out, with the Brazilian hoping to provide more celebrations for fans in the weeks ahead, as he stated the side are now confident going into the London derby against Graham Potters side this weekend.

“We are confident with the way we are playing we can get a positive result.,” stated the clubs record signing to the clubs Official Website.

“I love scoring and I have a few dances prepared too. Hopefully, I get the chance to show them!”

Paqueta also admitted that he is settling into life in London well now, and owes a lot to teammate and close friend Emerson, whom both have been close since being teammates at Lyon.

“I get on really well with Emerson,” added the Brazilian international. “Our friendship has been really helpful since moving to London.”
