West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd has undertaken a scan on the injury he sustained against Chelsea, with ExWHUEmployee reporting an update.

The Moroccan international, who also picked up an injury to his ankle in pre-season which caused him to miss months of football, left the field of play on Saturday with what appeared to be a groin injury.

With the defender in exceptional form of late, it was a sight that caused all connected with the club great concern, especially considering our predicament in the Premier League this season.

Ex however, reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, has provided positive news on the matter stating that Aguerds scan had shown ‘very little’ damage, giving hope that the recovery period could be a small one.

It has even been disclosed by our man-in-the-know that the player could well be available to David Moyes when our Hammers face Spurs this Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although that will be more clear nearer the time.

With the player playing such a key role, it remains to be seen if the club would want to take a risk in playing him so quickly after feeling discomfort.

“Aguerd is not as bad as first feared,” stated Ex. “The scan showed little damage. It is even hoped that he could even be fit for Spurs.”

The news will be a huge relief for David Moyes as there is no denying Aguerds positive impact he has made in recent weeks, becoming a regular stand out performer as West Ham look to pull away from the wrong end of the table this season.
