West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has called on him and his teammates to show our quality and start delivering on the pitch as we get set to face Aston Villa in a crucial match this afternoon.

Our Hammers go into the fixture in the relegation zone, although firmly in the knowledge that a victory over Unai Emery’s team today would take West Ham to 14th spot before we have a 3-week breather from Premier League action.

The fact an international break is looming toppled with other results in the league so far this weekend, has made todays encounter with Villa all the more important for David Moyes and his side, with the club in desperate need of a positive response following the poor display last time out against Brighton.

Zouma, who has recently again returned from a spell on the sidelines, is eager to see West Ham now start showing and demonstrating the quality we have available.

“We have got a good team, not just the starters but the whole squad,” the French international told the clubs Official Website. “But we have got to show it on the pitch and get our confidence growing.”

The defender has however stated that the side are feeling confident after a positive result in the week in the Europa Conference League over AEK Larnaca, and believes this result will help going into this crucial game at London Stadium.

“Every game we play is a big game at the moment, especially with the position we’re in,” added Zouma.

“In my opinion, we don’t deserve to be in the position we are in, but we are where we are and we obviously have to deal with it. The team is fully prepared and, as I said, the win in Cyprus should help us and bring us confidence for this afternoon. We are at home and I am sure the fans will be behind us and helping us.”
