West Ham boss David Moyes is under mounting pressure following the hammering received by Newcastle at London Stadium on Wednesday night.

It was our Hammers worst home defeat since August 2019, to pile further misery on what has been a terrible campaign for West Ham domestically, with much of the fan base calling for an urgent change in manager with the threat of relegation growing further.

Moyes has been under pressure for much of the season, yet a turn in fortunes this season hasn’t arrived and now our Hammers are sitting over the relegation zone on just goal difference with only 10 games of the season remaining.

There is now much speculation that the clubs hierachy are set to pull the trigger on Moyes and look for a replacement, with our man-in-the-know providing clarity on where the club currently are at with the situation at hand.

“The general feeling today is that David Moyes will still be in charge for the Fulham game at least, despite the result yesterday,” Ex stated on The West Ham Way Patreon. “The players are in for training today and Moyes will be in attendance as well.

“The board obviously have massive concerns and their support for Moyes has dwindled significantly, so far as that alternatives have been considered and explored should they wish to remove him but for the “short term”they seem reluctant to make a change.

“What the definition of a “short term” is, is open for interpretation but I would assume a bad defeat defeat against Fulham could spell the end of his time.

“This is of course my take on the correspondence I’ve received where I’m not entirely sure the board have a clear plan at the moment. Should they remove Moyes then a temporary caretaker model is likely to be considered until the end of the season with internal options being explored as well as external options.”
