West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca’s long term future has been of much speculation of late, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the situation.

It’s been an interesting few weeks in the life of Scamacca, with questions and scrutiny surrounding almost every aspect of his career at the moment.

ExWHUEmployee reassured fans that there was nothing suspicious to worry about, after videos of West Ham’s no. 7 leaving the London Stadium roughly an hour before the Hammers were due to kick off against Southampton on Sunday did the rounds on social media.

“Scamacca was in to have his knees looked at and have treatment at the stadium as planned,” Ex stated on the West Ham Way patreon. “He then left the stadium after his treatment had finished. He didn’t storm home and this was all planned this morning.”

David Moyes then provided clarification on the Italian’s situation, ensuring fans knew exactly what was happening and how long he would be on the sidelines for.

“Gianluca Scamacca has two weeks of rehabilitation on his knee which is going to keep him out for a couple of weeks,” said the Scotsman. “We don’t think he needs surgery, but we’ll see how the next two weeks go.”

Many have been quick to criticise Scamacca, after recent injury history has left a large question mark over his head. Comments from the manager did not help the no. 7’s case either, with remarks surrounding his physical statistics in training causing speculation about his dedication.

As things stand however, Moyes has clarified that there is no attitude problem surrounding Scamacca and that he is happy. He was meant to leave the stadium and has not been causing a fuss in training. The only concern is the injuries, and how frequently they appear to be coming about.
