West Ham’s home ground the London Stadium has been one of the stadiums omitted from the UK & Republic of Ireland’s bid to host Euro 2028.

Our Hammers ground in Stratford, for which we rent from owners the LLDC, was expected to be London venue for the tournament proposal, which is scheduled to take place in 5 years – however the shortlist has been revealed showing the stadium did not make the cut.

The London Stadium, along with Old Trafford, Stadium of Light and Dublin’s Croke Park did not make the final cut, which included stadiums which aren’t even built yet – including Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock, despite the significant financial uncertainty surrounding the Toffee’s at present.

“High-capacity, world-famous football grounds and state-of-the-art new venues will provide the platform for the biggest and most commercially successful Euros ever – making us a low risk, high reward host,” said the FA in s statement.

The final 10 venues are as follows:
