West Ham are set for another busy summer in the transfer market, with the strategy in targeting players set to change from previous seasons, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The previous summer transfer window saw our Hammers spend in the region of £180m, with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta and Thilo Kehrer all arriving in East London, which in-turn placed high expectations on the season.

Unfortunately the significant level of change at West Ham has been a factor as to why the club have failed domestically to deliver on its targets, as we currently fight to retain our Premier League status.

With another transfer window on the horizon, albeit currently uncertain with our league status undecided, West Ham are likely to be very active again and hope not to repeat any previous mistakes made.

ExWHUEmployee, reporting exclusively on The West Ham Way Podcast on Patreon, has revealed that the club have been actively scouting players in the Championship who they believe would make an impact in the Premier League.

This model has been used previously to much success, with the likes of Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Jarrod Bowen all recruited from the 2nd tier of English football and have then become key players for the club at Premier League level.

Alex Scott, a midfielder at Bristol City, is a player the club have scoured and admire, as well as Coventry City striker Viktor Gyökeres.

The club are also showing an interest in Joao Pedro of Watford and Max Aaron’s of Norwich City.

Ex, who was speaking following the clubs excellent performance in the draw with Arsenal at the weekend, also disclosed that the club are keeping tabs on younger players at the so-called ‘bigger’ clubs that might see a route to first team football more limited.

“We are looking a various younger players who are very highly rated at clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal,” stated Ex on this weeks Podcast.

“West Ham of course need to get our Premier League status confirmed for next season first, as that is hugely important in being able to persuade these players to join the club.”
