West Ham defender Kurt Zouma suffered an ankle injury in the loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the situation.

The Frenchman suffered the nasty looking injury during a challenge with Jordan Ayew, and had to leave the field of play immediately with Zouma looking in a lot of pain with the concern being that he may have broken the ankle.

Zouma was then seen leaving Selhurst Park in a protective boot, and David Moyes then subsequently provided a concerning outlook when speaking to the press ahead of our fixture against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

“We think we might lose Kurt for a few weeks,” stated Moyes to the press, as reported by Football London. “But we’re still sort of assessing his ankle at the minute.

“Kurt is incredibly good at getting himself ready and back fit. We’re hoping he will be fine.”

ExWHUEmployee has also provided an update on the situation, advising that the club do remain hopeful that the defender will feature again this season.

“The injury is being described as not a break (which is the positive) but still swelling and bad ligament damage,” stated our man-in-the-know on Patreon. “The hope is that he is a quick healer and may be able to return this season.”
