West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta says the team is ready to achieve its objectives this season ahead of facing Manchester United later today.

The Brazilian international, who was a record signing for the club last summer, has become an integral part of David Moyes’ side this season as he partners Declan Rice in the middle of the park.

Despite it being a tough season domestically for our Hammers, the clubs number 11 has shared his delight and pride in playing for West Ham whilst highlighting the love from the fans being something he cherishes.

“I have never felt support like this at any other club,” admitted Paqueta to the club’s Official Website. “At other clubs the fans have not been as loyal – our fans are always behind us, supporting us.

”I’m so happy to be at a club with a fanbase like this one.”

Paqueta has acknowledged that this hasn’t been a comfortable Premier League campaign but states that the objective to remain in the top flight and lift the Europa Conference League trophy is very much his focus.

“We have always been positive and believe we’ll have a good end to the season,” added Paqueta. “We all think the same.

“We know that it will be a very difficult game on Sunday, another difficult game, but we’re at home and the support of our home fans will really help us. We’ll go out to get the three points.

“We also speak about the Europa Conference League a lot – it’s the only trophy we have left to play for. Our fans deserve it. We want to make some history for the club and we will give our all to ensure we do.”

Paqueta is set to start in tonight’s match with the Red Devils firmly in the knowledge that a win would all-but secure West Ham’s safety from relegation this season.
