West Ham are showing a keen interest in a young Championship star, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

It is expected to be another busy summer for our Hammers, following the words yesterday from manager David Moyes that our club captain Declan Rice could well depart come the end of the campaign.

Moyes however did state that the intention is for Rice to remain, however if he is to leave East London then West Ham would expect to inherit vast sums for the England midfielder.

As previously reported by Ex exclusively on The West Ham Way Podcast, West Ham are expected to explore the Championship market and have been looking at various players from the second tier.

This week on our Podcast on Patreon, Ex revealed that our Hammers are now showing a keen interest in Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton, stating this is one fans “should keep an eye on”.

“We are certainly looking at players in the Championship,” stated Ex. “One to keep an eye on is Wharton of Blackburn Rovers, who has very much impressed this season.”

Wharton, who is only 18 years old, signed his first professional contract with Rovers last summer and has since been called up to the England U19’s squad. Should our Hammers move for Wharton however we are expected too face stiff competition from others including Newcastle United.

As reported exclusively on The West Ham Way by Ex, the club are keeping tabs on a number of players, including Alex Scott of Bristol City and Viktor Gyökeres of Coventry City.

Ex will be keeping fans fully up to date on the progress of all potential transfers and all other club matters on Patreon first & foremost.
