Pablo Fornals has spoken of the joy and emotion of firing West Ham to the Europa Conference League final in Prague.

What a night for West Ham, but most of all what a night for Pablo Fornals.  The Spanish midfielder came on for Said Benrahma in the second half, and played a huge part in the teams history as he went on to seal the win with a last minute goal.  His goal meant alongside the 2-1 win at home last week, West Ham would be sent to their first final since 1980.

Despite not having the best season, fans will definitely relish this moment for years to come.  Scoring the winner is definitely part of Pablo’s career that he will never forget and he told West Ham just how much it meant to him and the fans.

“You can imagine what it felt like to score the winner!” he added. “For this Club, for all these players, for all the fanbase, we obviously know that it was not the best season for us, but we could finish it so unbelievably in a few weeks. We could make this Club so proud!”

Fornals is one of a few players this season who haven’t seemed to get as much game time as they would have liked. However, West Ham’s no.8 has had a pivotal part to play when it comes to European games. He is West Ham’s joint all-time European appearance holder with 25 appearances to his name, and now his late winner will be written in history for years to come.

“The team who is playing regularly is doing great, but the lads who, like me, are training every day to get a spot are doing their job as well.” Pablo told whufc.com.

“We are training hard and working hard as professionals for nights like thisIt’s what we have to do because football is not just eleven against eleven.”

“It can happen in a match like this than you can have a chance to play, like a few of the lads did tonight, and obviously I’m really happy for all of them.”

There is no doubt that Fornals deserved this goal as much as anyone else, as someone who loves his club and holds the hammers close to his heart.  He described the experience as “massive” and now the team are set to head to Prague on June 7th.

“I am really pleased to be at this Club at this moment and in its big history. And I am really happy to write our names in another chapter.” he stated.

The final few Premier League games will be held over the next 2 weeks, so focus will be switched to those.  But the hard work doesn’t stop and the team are determined to win in the Czech Republic.  June is looking to be a busy month for Pablo Fornals and his family as the Spaniard has his wedding to look forward to just a few days after the final.

“A few days after the final will be my wedding too but I have to now make that day even better. It would be unbelievable if I can do both well.” Pablo added.
