West Ham are likely to avoid any repercussions following the scenes experienced at the end of our Semi-Final victory over AZ Alkmaar last week.

It was a historic night and moment for our club when Pablo Fornals sealed our place in the Europa Conference League final, with an injury time goal to put the tie beyond the hosts in Holland and set up our clash with Fiorentina in Prague.

However when the game ended, West Ham were set to celebrate with a our incredible away support, but unfortunately unsavoury scenes developed when AZ ‘ultras’ stormed the family & friends section for our Hammers to incite violence to overshadow what should have been a celebratory moment.

With their families in immediate danger, players quite rightly reacted fast by going in to the section to defend their loved ones and other fans from the unprovoked attack.

The scenes thankfully calmed and West Ham were eventually allowed to celebrate what was a moment that will live in the memories forever, with our Hammers hoping to go one further and life the trophy in 11 days time.

Concerns have grown though that West Ham could possibly receive a form of punishment for the scenes, with many players and staff involved in the francas, despite AZ issuing a public apology for the situation and Dutch police having since been arrested for inciting violence.

Speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast, our club insider though has advised that a punishment for West Ham is looking highly unlikely at this stage.

“The players should avoid any problems, as it is widely known they were simply protecting their loved ones,” stated Ex. “It would be ridiculous if they would be punished for that.

“Also if anything is raised by UEFA to West Ham then the club will most certainly respond. But as of now, it is highly unlikely to be an issue.”
