West Ham are now very much in the hunt to add more players following the agreement reached for Edson Alvarez, according to reports.
The news of the agreement with Ajax for the Mexican international Alvarez came as a sigh of relief for all connected with the club, following a very frustrating summer.
Our Hammers have struggled to land transfer targets despite selling Declan Rice for £105m to Arsenal and having plenty of time to make progress, which has understandably raised significant concerns.
However the impending arrival of Alvarez is one many will be excited about, with the defensive midfielder known to have many suitors, including Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
It has now been reported that the capture will now be seen as a catalyst in bringing more players to East London, with West Ham eager to strengthen further ahead of the new season.
90 min have reported that the club are aiming to bring in up to 6 players ahead of deadline day at the end of the month.
“90min understands the Hammers are looking to bring in up to six players before the summer window closes and getting the Alvarez deal over the line is seen as a key breakthrough in the transfer market,” it stated in the article.
