West Ham summer target James Ward-Prowse is finalising his move to East London, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

The Southampton captain has been reported to be a key target for our Hammers this summer, with his experience, leadership and incredible set piece & free kick ability key reasons as to why he’d be a very positive addition to our current squad.

Manager David Moyes today confirmed in his press conference, ahead of our match against Bournemouth on Saturday, that Ward-Prowse was undertaking his medical today, as was reported by Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

Our club insider has now provided a further update, reporting that official confirmation of the transfer is edging closer.

“We can confirm that James Ward Prowse is having his medical now,” reported Ex on Patreon. “But he has obviously missed the 12pm registration deadline to play tomorrow.

“The club are planning the promotional video which should feature some form of Golf theme due to his trade mark celebrations. The announcement isn’t likely to be today however as the medical is being done now, the results will need to come back and then the finer terms of the contract will be completed.

“Should the deal all be completed it will be interesting to see what shirt number he takes. Number 7 and 11 are free. In his career he has mostly worn the number 8 shirt but this is Fornal’s. The other shirt he has worn at Southampton is number 16 so he could be the first player since Mark Noble to take that number!”
