West Ham boss David Moyes is delighted with the signing of one of his main targets this summer, with James Ward-Prowse penning a long-term deal.

Our Hammers have captured the former Southampton captain, with the midfielder now expected to train and be ready for his debut this Sunday when we face Chelsea at the London Stadium.

It has been a somewhat difficult transfer window for the club, but the arrival of Ward-Prowse following Edson Alvarez last week has lifted the mood as West Ham look to make this campaign a positive one.

David Moyes is particularly delighted to have Ward-Prowse following a long pursuit of the player, with our Hammers keen to land the player last summer.

Moyes though now has his man and is thrilled to add his many qualities to the squad as our season is now officially up and running.

“I’m delighted to bring a player of James’ quality and experience to West Ham United,” Moyes told the clubs Official Website

“He’s performed to a very high level in the Premier League over the last decade, constantly producing good numbers season after season.

“His leadership qualities are obviously another huge plus for us – he’ll be a big voice for us, someone who drives the team on from the middle of the pitch.

“We’re excited to get him up and running, for what will be another busy season on both the domestic and European front.”
