West Ham have officially announced the signing of James Ward-Prowse, with ExWHUEmployee delighted at the latest capture.
The former Southampton captain is our Hammers 2nd major summer signing following the arrival of Edson Alvarez, with the player now training ahead of his potential debut against Chelsea this weekend.
Ward-Prowse, who has been a key target of David Moyes for some time, has put pen to paper on a 4-year contract, with the midfielder taking the number 7 shirt.
ExWHUEmployee, who has reported on this signing throughout the summer, is understandably delighted and believes the England midfielder will be a huge asset to our club as we look to push on this season and embark on another exciting European journey.
“I think it’s a brilliant signing and cannot understand why anyone would think different,” stated Ex. “He is a leader, a loyal player, a free kick and penalty specialist and I think his actual all round ability is underestimated too.
“He has played for England before and will add at least 10-15 goals from set pieces and assists. I think the likes of Soucek will really benefit from his delivery also.
“I’m really pleased and I think £30m in the modern game is a decent price too!”
West Ham are set to continue to bring players in this transfer window, with our club insider Ex set to provide an update on various pursuits later today on The West Ham Way Podcast.
