West Ham Women have announced the signing of new goal keeper coach, Chris Pipe.

West Ham have also confirmed that Jimmy Walker, Danielle Bowman, Darren Smith and Jenny Coady have all left their respective coaching roles within the club.

Pipe is familiar with Skinner, after previously working with the new manager at Tottenham Hotspur between July 2021 and September 2022.

The 35-year-old also worked with the England U23s Women’s team as goal keeper coach very recently, and has formerly worked at Dagenham and Redbridge, Millwall, Arsenal and Watford at men’s academy level.

The coach started work in August at Chadwell Heath, taking over the team whilst Skinner working in Australia for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Pipe spoke to West Ham’s official website on his excitement of joining the team:

“I’m really pleased to be joining West Ham United,” he told whufc.com. “I’m really looking forward to the opportunity.

“Speaking with Rehanne and [managing director] Aidan [Boxall], the project is a really exciting one and I’m looking forward to the season getting underway.

“My integration with the staff since the minute that I arrived has been great and I’ve been made to feel really welcome here.

“I have enjoyed my time working with Rehanne in the past and I’m really excited to be working with her again in east London.”

Skinner also explained her thoughts after reuniting with him:

“I’m delighted to be working with Chris again. We’ve worked together in a previous role where his development of the goalkeepers and the set-piece programme was exceptional.

“He’s coming to us with more experience off the back of working with England U23s and I have no doubt that he will be a huge asset to the team.”

The West Ham Way wishes Chris the best of luck in his role at West Ham United.
