West Ham’s Technical Director Tim Steidten is on his way to Brazil to with the intent to secure our next summer signing, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Our Hammers have been active in the transfer market of late, after securing the high-profile capture of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax yesterday – which followed the recent signings of Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
West Ham are not yet done though however, with Ex reported on The West Ham Way Patreon that the club are intending to secure the signatures of 2 to 3 more prior to the window closing in 4 days time.
“As mentioned in our previous update I have been assured that West Ham are tying to sign 2/3 more players this window,” stated our Podcast co-host and club insider.
“Jesse Lingard is expected to be one of those players, although he doesn’t have to be signed before the window on Friday as he is a free agent.”
One player who has also been exclusively revealed to be a target for the club is Yuri Alberto, with Ex reporting that Tim Steidten is heading to visit in Brazil in the hope of securing a deal for the highly-rated Brazilian international.
“There is strong interest in Brazilian forward Yuri Alberto of Corinthians,” added Ex. “The forward has one cap for his national team and has already played in Europe with a loan spell Zenit Saint Petersburg.
“He has a decent scoring record in Brazil and has been likened in attributes to Antonio who he he being lined up to be back up to. The club are said to have already met with his agents in an attempt to sort out a deal.
“We can confirm that we believe that Tim Steidten is on the way to Brazil, to try and complete the signing.
“While he is in Brazil he is expected to meet with a couple of other potential targets. Alberto’s agents still proving quite challenging in discussions but he is still the main target for now. Pedro of Flamengo as emerged as an alternative option to Alberto if the Alberto deal doesn’t progress. Pedro has also been capped 6 times for Brazil.”
