Jesse Lingard is now likely to rejoin West Ham following weeks of training at Rush Green.

When Lingard first joined the Hammers on loan, there was plenty of skepticism around the signing. However, he quickly put these fears to rest by scoring two goals on his debut and being nothing short of world class during his time in East London.

Unfortunately, the love story was short lived as he rejected the chance to join permanently three times. Most recently he decided to join Nottingham Forest over the Hammers as he “felt the most love” from them.

One more twist in this tale looks to be edging closer. Controversially, the Englishman is “expected to sign for the club” according to our club insider ExWHUEmployee.

He exclusively revealed that the winger was once again training with us to build fitness with a small possibility of a short term contract being offered. His sources have been slowly changing their wording as the days went by and now it’s at a point that a contract is almost imminent.

“Jesse Lingard is now expected to sign for the club with this more than likely confirmed just before the Manchester City game so he can be registered for that,” he confirmed. It is hoped he will accept a much reduced wage and an incentive based contract. “The club wanted to allow him as long as possible to prove his fitness and attitude whilst also obviously delaying having to pay a wage for him.”

While this news may come with mixed reactions, that would certainly be forgotten if he is able to emulate his performances during his loan spell at the club. It’s said that he feels like East London is his second home and that he wants to set things right with the West Ham fans. There’s no better way to do that than by taking a reduced wage and fighting for your spot in the squad.
