West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez has praised new arrival Mohammed Kudus, saying fans will love what he will bring to our Hammers side.

Alvarez, who joined the club this summer from Dutch giants Ajax, is a former teammate of Kudus, having both played together at Ajax and have a long standing relationship.

The Mexican international has started his Irons career is very good form, looking well adjusted already to the pace of the Premier League, despite only featuring 3 times thus far.

Kudus on the other hand arrived in east London later, having made his first appearance for West Ham as a late substitute in the away victory against Luton Town last Friday night.

Alvarez has since given special praise for the Ghanaian international, stating that West Ham fan should be excited for what he will bring to our Hammers side this season.

“He’s a very special guy and he’s a different player,” Alvarez told whufc.com.  He just needs a couple of games and he’ll show what he can bring. I know our fans will enjoy him a lot.”

The defensive midfielder also expressed his delight in how well the club have started the new season, with David Moyes side in the top 4 – having won 3 and drawn 1 of the opening 4 matches of the Premier League campaign.

“We’re in a very special moment,” added Alvarez. “Not just for me but for all the players and the staff, and the fans too. We’re super happy and we want to keep doing the good things. This is just the beginning.

“I feel good. I have excellent teammates on my side and they have my back. The communication between us is very clear and I’m super happy with my performances so far. But I also know I can bring more. I just want to keep working for myself and for the team, and for the fans.”
