West Ham are currently trailing a defender that was scouted during our pre-season tour of Australia, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Our Hammers embarked on the trip down under over the summer prior to the season commencement, which included a memorable 3-2 victory over London rivals Spurs in Perth.
The other match West Ham competed in was against A-League outfit Perth Glory, which David Moyes’ side came away 6-2 winners – however it has been reported that the club were also scouting opposition players during the fixture, with one now undertaking a trial in our famed Academy of Football.
James Overy, who is a young right-wing-back for the Australian side, has been identified as someone with huge potential, and therefore is currently working with the club with the aim of earning a contract to develop his career further in east London.
Ex, who was reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, exclusively disclosed the news and will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of the trial as it develops.
“I have been told by my sources that James Overy is currently on trial with our Academy,” stated our Podcast co-host and club insider. “He is a highly rated right-back who impressed when playing against us for Perth Glory during our pre-season tour.”
