West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has backed teammate Mohammed Kudus to shine for our Hammers after his first Premier League goal.

Kudus was on the scoresheet to grab a late leveller against Newcastle at the weekend, with the Ghanaian international firing in a superb shot in the 89th minute, to get his first league goal following 2 he has already scored for West Ham in the Europa League.

Following his arrival from Ajax in the summer, there has been much excitement surrounding the player with many other top clubs across Europe keen on Kudus, but there is a growing sense he is now settled and could be set to be made a 1st team starter in the league very soon.

Kudus’ teammate and fellow goalscorer against the Magpies on Sunday, Tomas Soucek, is delighted for the forward, and feels that the goals will give Kudus a huge confidence lift after we resume our season after the current international break.

“It’s perfect for Mo that he scored his first Premier League goal,” Soucek told the clubs Official Website. “He’s still new so we have to get connected with him as well, but for his confidence it was important that he scored because he is a winger and also a striker, so he needs to get on the scoresheet. He did that today, so that was great for us.”

Soucek’s form has also been one source of topic among many this season so far, with the Czech international already scoring 4 goals in all competitions thus far – gicing an indication that the big man is back to his best in the claret & blue.

“I feel great now and especially ready and more motivated than ever,” added Soucek. “I just hope my performances will be like this or even better.”
