West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell could be set for a January departure from the club, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The Hammers defender, who joined the club from Ipswich back in 2014, has seen his future be the subject of speculation in recent months, with significant interest from Wolves reported over the summer.
An exit appeared to be on the cards, with Cresswell missing some of pre-season as talks over transfer rumbled on, however it did not materialise, with Cresswell remaining in east London for now.
The excellent form of Emerson and an injury to Cresswell has seen his first team options limited, and it now appears an exit could well materialise.
It has been reported by ExWHUEmployee that the club have been scouting for a new left-back, with the club heavily linked with Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen over the summer.
Another player West Ham are understood to be impressed by having scouted him numerous times is FC Porto left back Zaidu Sanusi.
The Nigerian international, who is 26, appears to fit the bill in terms of his attributes, and could well be a target should Cresswell depart West Ham.
“Cresswell faces an uncertain future, with the player close to leaving in the summer,” said Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.
“The club have been impressed by Porto left back Sansusi, and should Cresswell leave then a bid could be made for the Nigerian international.”
Cresswells current contract expires at the end of this season, so the club may look to sell in January to avoid losing the player on a free.
