West Ham’s collapse at Villa Park which lead to a 4-1 hammering is a real cause for concern, states ExWHUEmployee.

David Moyes’ side were undone badly at the hand of Aston Villa, with the home side looking far more hungry for the occasion, as West Ham simply looked a side blown away and out of ideas.

Many expected the occasion to be hotly contested, with 5th place in the Premier League up for grabs, which would have played well into the hands of Moyes’ side, with more favourable fixtures on the horizon – but West Ham failed to live up to the expectation.

Despite prior to the match it being a positive start the campaign made by West Ham, pressure will be on now for David Moyes to get his team to respond, with a trip to Athens to face Olympiakos in the Europa League this Thursday, followed by us hosting Everton in the Premier League on Sunday,

Following the loss to Villa, ExWHUEmployee admitted that the manner of the defeat is a cause for concern, with it evident that our Hammers failed to address the problems in the game – as many of the big name players simply failed to show up.

“I thought it was a bad day at the office for us,” said our Podcast co-host and club insider. “There were too many players under performing and not a Plan B to rectify the situation.

“Aston Villa are a very good side and a loss there isn’t the end of the world, but the nature of defeat was concerning. The main difference for me was an in form forward, i.e. Watkins –  and one that looks like he needs a rest, Antonio.”
