West Ham are allegedly one of multiple Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Brahmin Diaz.
After impressing during a three-year-long loan spell at AC Milan, Diaz returned to parent club Real Madrid but has failed to find any sort of consistent football, playing only 109 minutes so far in the league. A lot of this can be put down to Jude Bellingham taking La Liga by storm in a similar role to the Spaniard.
This lack of play time has left the midfielder looking for a potential move away from the Bernabeu. According to multiple sources, the player favours a move back to Italy but both Aston Villa and West Ham could look to acquire the player’s services, as reported by Team Talk.
Since returning to Madrid, AC Milan have changed their system and it is hard to see where he would fit into their current side. This means that they may not attempt to re-sign the playmaker and, therefore, he may not get his preferred move. A club like Villa or West Ham would theoretically give him more of an opportunity to play consistently while still competing for Europe.
Spanish news outlet Sport have reported that Los Blancos may be willing to depart with the player for just €20 million. That is an extremely low price tag for someone who has made over 120 appearances for Milan and played a key part in them winning the Serie A just a couple of seasons ago.
At just 24-years-old he could be a great signing for our Irons. However, with Villa eyeing up the potential 5th Champions League spot, it may be hard to convince Diaz to come to East London. Fortunately, if there is one thing that has been seen repeatedly over the last couple of years it’s David Moyes pulling off signings we could only dream of.
