West Ham Academy star Divin Mubuma has rejected a ‘fabulous’ contract offer at the club, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Mubuma has been in discussion with the club he has been at since he was 8 years old, however it is understood is becoming frustrated by the uncertain direction of his progression to the first team.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUemployee confirmed the concerning news, although did disclose that talks are still ongoing.
“We can confirm that Divin Mubama has turned down a new contract at West Ham,” stated Ex.
“As we eluded to on this week’s podcast we felt that academy players could start to turn down new deals if their path to the first team was not clear. This of course has been proven today and also backs up that we felt that Mubama could become very frustrated soon.
“We also believe that Mubama may have changed agents recently too.
“We contacted the club and had the story confirmed by our top source who said “He’s turned down a fabulous offer, which is very sad. However, we are still in discussions.”
We understand the club feel the offer was very good, but whether Divin and his associates feel the same is the question.
The current position appears to be resembling the situations with Sonny Perkins and Harrison Ashby, and the club will hope they get a more positive resolution.
Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the situation as it develops.
