West Ham succumbed to another loss in the Premier League after falling 3-2 at Brentford, with pressure now on to turn the situation around fast.
David Moyes’ side started the campaign in fine fashion, recording excellent wins over Brighton and Chelsea to give hope that a positive season was set to be embarked on, but form has significantly dipped, with 5 losses recorded in the last 7 matches – and only 1 victory in that time, against bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United.
The loss at Brentford on Saturday marked a display in the second half which saw our Hammers squander a 2-1 lead, with serious question marks hanging over the heads of certain player and the manager too, who’s substitutions baffled many as we tried to get back into the game when trailing.
ExWHUEmployee, who was in attendance at the match, was understandably angry at the performance, and highlighed that West Ham once again demonstrated a very poor start to the second half where again we were punished.
“Another frustrating performance from us where a number of players have let us down,” said our club insider after the game. “If we take that chance and go 3-1 before half time the game should be ours to win, but we don’t.
“We don’t have enough forward power at all. We also seem so casual at the start of the second half as well and this is a worrying trend. It’s time to rest Antonio and go with Bowen as the forward now until we can sign someone in January.”
Ex also stated that the defending has been poor, where again questionable goals are conceded. The run of results leaves West Ham desperate now to pick up points, with the danger that this season is slipping into a mediocre one.
“The defenders also didn’t help conceding soft goals too,” added Ex. “Forest now becomes a must win game to get us back on track.”
