West Ham’s Technical Director Tim Steidten is seeing his influence at the club continue to grow, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The former Director at Bayer Leverkusen, who joined West Ham in the summer to oversee a significant overhaul in first team players, is understood to have impressed greatly since arriving in east London.
Steidten arrived at the club having been touted by many top tier European clubs, including the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, however the German former footballer opted to move to West Ham, giving excitement for all connected with the club for what the future may hold.
Speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast, our co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee has reported that majority shareholder David Sullivan is very happy with the work carried out by Steidten to date – so much so that the Technical Director is now seen as Sullivans right-hand-man.
“Tim Steidten’s role at the club has grown in seniority since his arrival,” stated Ex on Patreon. “His knowledge, targets and dealings have really impressed Sullican, who now fully trusts Tim as his right-hand-man.
“This will almost certainly mean that Steidten will be leading the search for our next manager in the future. However, its understood his main focus for now is player contracts and January recruitment – with a striker top of the list.”
As has been reported previously by Ex, Steidten has drawn up a list of potential managers as a contingency plan, although stressed that this is standard procedure, that would be expected at all clubs.
