West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has suffered a knee injury whilst on international duty with England, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.
The Hammers winger, who has found in place amongst the Three Lions squad again in the latest 2 squad announcements, has had to withdraw from the side to return to east London for examination – with the England manager Gareth Southgate confirming the news and downplaying the severity of the situation.
“Unfortunately Jarrod Bowen has picked up a bit of a knock in training which needs a little bit more assessment before we’re completely clear whether it would be the right thing to play or not,” Southgate told the press, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“I don’t think it’s going to be anything serious. But we just didn’t have enough time and we wouldn’t take a risk in that situation.”
ExWHUEmployee has since reported on the news, and has confirmed that there is of course concern at West Ham – understandable given Bowen’s importance to our Hammers side.
“No diagnosis has been given as yet and West Ham will get him checked out by their medical staff as they will be doing with fellow forward Antonio following his withdrawal from Jamaica’s match against Canada,” Ex stated on The West Ham Way Patreon.
“Southgate has said he thinks that the injury is not serious, but of course until West Ham get confirmation there will be a lot of worry.”
Ex is set to provide an update on the situation later on The West Ham Way Podcast.
