West Ham boss David Moyes has stated that he wants to see better performances from his side in the second half of this season.

Our Hammers head to north London to take on bitter rivals Spurs following a rather lacklustre display against Crystal Palace on Sunday, for which we drew 1-1.

Captain Kurt Zouma was absent from the match following a burglary at his home, a situation the manager has described as terrible for the defender and his family.

“It’s been a terrible situation, but the club are supporting him really well,” Moyes told the press, as reported by the BBC. “It’s horrible – nobody should be broken into. Hopefully, with the reward being put up, the people will be arrested for it.”

The performance on Sunday though did see another excellent showing from Mohammed Kudus, who not only scored but was arguably the best player on the pitch. It’s something Moyes admits is really delighting him to witness.

“He’s started better than how I anticipated,” said the manager. “He came off the bench and was scoring and making goals, and now he’s starting and he’s continued doing that. So, hopefully he will continue to do that.”

The boss also admitted that his team haven’t been good enough though, and wants to see better performances as we near the midway point of the campaign.

“We are only a couple of points behind where we were a couple of years ago, but there are loads of things we can do better. We want to do that in the second half of the season.”

On our opponents Spurs tomorrow night, the West Ham boss stated that their new manager Postecoglou has really impressed him.

“He’s done remarkably,” added Moyes. “Tottenham are a really good side and he’s made a big difference to how they play, the crowd and the atmosphere. I’m a bit surprised everyone else is surprised after what he did at Celtic.”
