Mohammed Kudus has stated that the team are feeling the belief after a big milestone was reached this week.
West Ham advanced to the last 16 of the Europa League, our 3rd successive season of qualifying beyond the group stage in Europe, after overcoming Freiburg 2-0 at the London Stadium.
It was a very accomplished display from our Hammers, especially coming off the back of a hammering at the hands of Fulham last weekend.
One of the standout performers once again was Kudus, who fired in his 7th goal for West Ham since his arrival – his 11th in total this season.
He has now admitted that confidence and belief is amongst the squad as we get back to domestic action tomorrow against Wolves, also at home – with our Hammers looking to draw a firm line under the loss at Craven Cottage.
Kudus admitted the display on Thursday night was a very positive one, but now the focus is forming on the arrival of Gary O’Neils side tomorrow afternoon.
“We wanted to finish top of the group and we did, so I’m very happy,” the signing from Ajax told the club’s Official Website.
“Everyone was on top of their game and gave their best and you can see that in the result.
“It always feels good to score as an attacking player. That’s what we are here to do, put the ball in the net, so I’m happy to score on Thursday and now we focus on the next game.
“I believe in myself and I believe in everyone in the team. We are very confident but we’ll take it one game at a time. We wait to see who we will play in the round of 16 and we’ll take it from there, but I’m very confident against whoever we meet.”
