West Ham hold a strong interest in Kalvin Philips as they continue to work on a potential loan deal this January.
As has been reported for some time now by our club insider ExWHUEmployee, David Moyes is a huge admirer of the Manchester City midfielder and there now appears to be an opportunity for the Hammers boss to land his long-term target.
It had been widely expected within football circles that Newcastle United were in pole position to land the England international this transfer window, however due to FFP concerns, its understood the Magpies have now stalled on a potential move, paving the way for West Ham to make a move.
The West Ham Way now understands that the club are working with Manchester City to try and compromise on a deal, with our Hammers wanting the Premier League champions to lower their loan fee demands and agree on a wage percentage.
At this stage the club are hopeful that a loan deal could be struck, although talks will continue for this to reach this stage.
