West Ham have a massive list of players they could potentially sign this month, but there is one glaring omission.
As usual, West Ham have been linked with a ridiculous amount of players this transfer window. While some may not necessarily be who David Moyes looks to sign this month, he clearly has a lot of individuals he is considering.
In recent days there have been developments in the Hammer’s links with Kalvin Phillips and Emile Smith-Rowe (the latter of which ExWHUEmployee has revealed has no interest in moving to West Ham). However, journalist Sean Whetstone has stated that these are just two players of an immense list that are being looked at.
“Kalvin Phillips and Emile Smith Rowe are two of twenty players that David Moyes and Tim Steidten are currently looking and exploring at as potential loan deals,” Whetstone tweeted. “The Hammers are looking to sign one or two players on loan before the transfer window closes but could [end] up signing no-one if they cannot obtain value for money.”
Intriguingly he adds that, “they are not actively looking for a striker within those 20 names.” Considering that a No.9 was expected to be the biggest priority in the build up to the window, this is a remarkable turn up for the books. If this is the case, it would suggest that Moyes is happy with Bowen as a striker. It is understood that Said Benrahma is likely to leave this month, so priority may have shifted to the left wing instead.
With there being less than two weeks until deadline day, the Scotsman and Steidten will have to work overtime if they are to narrow down that list and pursue deals. As it stands, Phillips seems like the most likely deal, but that can all change within one phone call or email.
Limited funds makes things more difficult, but fans can rest assured that they’re in the good hands to bring in the right players.
