West Ham are reportedly aiming to bring in three players this month, with the third being a French wonder-kid being named as the third.
As our own ExWHUEmployee exclusively revealed, West Ham are close to signing Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City, while talks are progressing for Ibrahim Osman. They are two brilliant signings if they happen, but it does not seem like the Hammers are done there.
Both the midfield and the left wing are positions that the club need to improve upon or add depth too, but that is also the case with the full-backs. Fortunately, according to Santi Aouna, they have identified who they want to sign this January.
Bradley Locko is a 21 year old left-back who plays for Brest in France. Statistically, he has been one of the best players in his position in Ligue 1 and has started every game for the French side.
While he certainly is raw, he has the potential to be one of the best full-backs around both defensively and going forward.
He represents the sort of player that West Ham are shifting towards signing – young, exciting players who can get in the first team but also improve over time. They need to start transitioning away from the older fringe players and into a young squad that can help the club compete at the top for years to come and Locko is just the type of player they should be looking at.
A mixture of experience and youth has always been a recipe for success, let’s hope that is the case for our Irons.
