Tim Steidten has not ruled out the possibility of leaving West Ham for Liverpool at the end of the season.

When Jurgen Klopp announced that he was leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, everyone jumped to the conclusion that Xabi Alonso would take over. Aside from him, no one else has really been mentioned as a genuine candidate for the job but Alonso moving to the Reds could be extremely bad news for West Ham.

The Bayer Leverkusen manager is unbeaten in all competitions and him coming to the Premier League could mean that the Hammers suffer even more hurt against Liverpool. Unfortunately, this is not even the main issue though as rumours have emerged stating that Tim Steidten could move to Merseyside to reunite with his former colleague.

When asked about the possibility of joining Liverpool, Steidten seemed like he was almost encouraging them to approach him. “I’ve heard that I am supposed to be on the list at Liverpool,” he told Florian Plettenberg. “It is one of the biggest clubs in the world, so it’s an honour. But so far nobody from LFC has contacted me yet.”

However, the German was eager to state that he is happy in East London and is excited for what the future holds with them.

“I generally feel very comfortable at West Ham. I quickly realised how intense this league is. Accordingly, we signed the right players in the last transfer windows. The squad is strong, so we can achieve our goals.”

“I am looking forward facing the next weeks and months until the end of the season. Of course we are already planing the next window. What happens to the future, we will see.”

Steidten has already had a massive impact on the whole structure of West Ham, particularly how they deal with transfers. Losing him would be awful for the club given that he is one of the best at what he does. They will just have to hope that the rumours are no more than just paper talk.
